The Sodden Lane

The Sodden Lane

The Sodden Lane
Christopher Denq 2011

Who am I to think of
When the clouds dim in dye,
The air becomes heavy,
And the sky starts to cry?

My Sorrow, when she’s here
I remember fall days
Full of cold, shallow rain –
The baleful, shadowed haze

Gloom has befallen heart
Due misery, it’s plain
That I walk quite alone,
I walk the sodden lane

Inspired by Robert Frost’s “My November Guest”.
